Our Story
My husband, Daniel and I (Emily) met in 2012 during a 4H winter camp retreat. It didn’t take long for me to fall for him! Dan was involved in the go-kart and senior council club with 4H and I was involved in the 4H livestock clubs - dairy goats, dairy cows, beef cows, and poultry. We finally started dating April of 2013 and tied the knot in May of 2019.
When it came time to buying our first home together we both had our must haves. My love for farming and animals then Dan’s love for woodworking and sawmilling landed us in Frelinghuysen NJ (Warren County) in March of 2021.
Our farm has been a labor of love since we started from scratch with no livestock shelters or farmable land. Slowly we have been able to chip away the overgrowth making useable spaces for our livestock, garden, orchard, and sawmill. There is still a lot more work ahead of us with creating sustainable land.
Our passion is self-sufficiency with minimum waste. Together we are achieving our goals one step at a time, with many steps to go!
